About 35 years Far away in the wilderness of Uruguay a soul was born who had a mission in her life: to show people that horses can do MORE than we believe and that they STRENGTH, COURAGE and CONFIDENCE in situations where we humans are helpless.
22 years ago, Felicitas created exactly that: the Lichtblickhof was founded.She loved being with children, not stopping believing in the impossible, carrying on, standing for hours at the bedside of seriously ill children and communicating with them in the most subtle way through their breathing... BUT also showing that giving up is not an option: BECAUSE SOMETHING ALWAYS HAPPENS
And now… Now we have to KEEP GOING for YOU… DON’T GIVE UP, even though the pain almost takes your breath away… even though a Lichtblickhof unthinkable without them, but forever filled with their spirit at a hunt.
Therefore, this farewell does not begin with “I”, because there are few beings who have taught us more to think about “we”! As many of you who read this have been included in her WE, so many have also been because YOU are part of this miracle of stardust. So it is not I who is grieving, but WE, there is a herd of people and horses, a whole Lichtblickhof, friends, supporters, whose foundation has always been and continues to be their firm, fine, free wild horse will. Of course SORRY something that everyone SINGLES experienced so differently with such force, "my" world is no longer as it was, my pain is unbearable! I can feel it in my heart that is only beating halfway and my soul is struggling to breathe, grief makes me selfish...
BUT!!! ... Felicita would smash into my face with a firm look: THAT is not my message! She would murmur her gentle rhythmic bubbling at me and my heart would be filled with warmth and confidence in that second and drive away that painful loneliness!
Felicita is known to many as “the Flitzerl“ she wanted to LIVE, she wanted to WORK and she wanted peace… and this is how her obituary should be: full of wisdom, forgiveness, gentleness, ONENESS, loyalty to ALL, to whom she gave her affection and protection unconditionally. Peace in the heart, that was her way.
How do you do justice to that? Today, just for you, today we want to be big, brown, better people… We have learned so much from you… how can that fit into a few lines… If I take my time, I will find enough time for everything that is necessary, she whispered to me when we met in the morning, before the hustle and bustle of the Lichtblickhof day briefly. When I see the deeply experience the present moment, The past will strengthen me and I will not be afraid of the future, she said quietly when I put my forehead on her neck and her fur dried my tears. Failures, insults, frustrations - she also experienced all of these often. 10 years ago she fought against her epilepsy back to life and has remained seizure-free to this day! We learned from her that acceptance is an active decision that sets you free. Love cannot be taken or had, only GIVE... We love you big brown one: FOREVER and ever!
If she could say something else to us, it would be: “And if ALL that remains of me is LOVE: give me away!”
