today, on Austrian Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Day, we would like to take you into a world that is quieter than many – and yet full of life.
Palliative care for children doesn't mean that nothing more can be done. It means doing everything possible to make life worth living. In the now. With Closeness, warmth, relief – and an open heart for everything that's happening. Because when a child is seriously ill, it affects the whole family. Often, it's the siblings who take a back seat. They feel it, but don't speak up. They share in the grief, even though they're still small themselves.
In our animal-assisted companionship They can be children again. With horses at their side, they find support, trust, and space to breathe. A horse doesn't ask questions. It's simply there. And often exactly what's needed.
This special work requires time, dedication—and support. Therapy horses need to be cared for, companions need to be trained. And families should be able to access all of this free of charge. Therefore, we ask you today:
