A few weeks ago, our Tamino had to undergo emergency surgery after a severe colic attack. He's doing quite well now, and we're incredibly proud of how bravely he's fighting his way through this time and healing bit by bit ❤️‍🩹 Currently, Tamino is living in his own small open stable so we can keep a close eye on his feeding. It's especially important at night that the intervals between meals aren't too long. That's why we built him an automatic feeder that provides him with soaked meadow hay cubes or hay. Tamino isn't allowed to play with the other horses yet, as the incision on his abdomen is large and he still needs plenty of rest. He's all the more enjoying his little freedoms: He's already been allowed to explore the large open stable area on his own, sniffing curiously through every corner. He's also been able to take a few short trips to the large pasture, where he's cautiously enjoyed a few bites of grass. He'd probably love to be back out in the pasture with the other horses already. His longing look in their direction certainly says it all. He especially enjoys his daily walks. When children or teenagers accompany him, his gaze becomes calm and content. Cats cannot be persuaded. They don't come because they're supposed to. They don't stay because it's expected of them.
