Communication between humans and animals on a new level
While science is gradually deciphering the cognitive abilities of animals and increasingly realizing how equal they are to us, new paths are also emerging in the practical, daily interaction with animals. A path that is Lichtblickhof for seven years because it opens up worlds for disabled children and animals alike is the use of so-called Augmentative and Alternative Communication, i.e. pressing voice buttons or pointing at boards to communicate.
In the following talk, we will share our experiences with you, give instructions on how you can get started yourself, and also explain all the disadvantages and limitations of this new form of supported communication. Because, in addition to all our enthusiasm for new ways of animals being able to SPEAK, what really fascinates us is their fine emotional antennae.
