In Austria there are an estimated 5.000 children and young people with an incurable, life-shortening disease. There are still too few childcare places for these families.
In public, the illness and death of children and young people are still a social taboo.
That's why the Austrian Hospice Association created today's Austrian Children's Hospice and Palliative Care Day.
We are particularly pleased that we can open our apartments for children's hospice companions with animals, which are unique in Vienna, on this very important day.
